Morning Arenal Volcano hike

Overview

The morning Arenal Volcano hike is a 3-hour guided walk at the foot of Arenal Volcano that leaves La Fortuna at 7:30 a.m. You walk across old lava flows with views of the volcano and Lake Arenal, with a bilingual guide, park entrance and round-trip transport included. It costs $57 per adult and $34 per child, VAT not included.

Your guide carries a spotting scope to help you find birds and other wildlife along the trail, and explains the geology of the lava fields and the plants of the rainforest.

Itinerary

1. 7:30 a.m.Pickup at your hotel in the La Fortuna area

• Moderate walk. Not recommended for people with heart or physical conditions or for older adults.
• Shared tour with up to 15 people per guide.
• Wildlife sightings are likely but not guaranteed.
• Free pickup only within our pickup area; an extra fee may apply outside it.

Cancellation policy

Cancel at least 24 hours before the tour for a 100% refund; with less notice, the full price is charged. Date changes made at least 24 hours ahead have no fee, subject to availability. If we cancel for weather or safety, you choose between rescheduling and a 100% refund. Pickup waits up to 10 minutes and, at the meeting point, please arrive 15 minutes early; a missed tour counts as a no-show without a refund.
